Charges to Be Dismissed Against Anybody But Coble Founder
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 7, 2025
RANDLEMAN, NC – The criminal summons initiated by Beverly Coble against Anybody But Coble founder Clayton Ballentine will be unconditionally dismissed, marking yet another failed attempt to weaponize the legal system for political gain.
On March 6, Coble filed both a 50C civil no-contact order and a criminal complaint against Ballentine—the same day. What’s more revealing is that she dismissed her previous 50C filing, made in December, less than 24 hours before its scheduled hearing. The timing makes clear this was not about seeking protection; it was about political retaliation and silencing criticism. Together, these coordinated filings appear designed to pressure Ballentine into taking down Anybody But Coble’s website and Facebook page, which have held Coble accountable to the public.
“This wasn’t about justice—it was about leverage,” said Clayton Ballentine, founder of Anybody But Coble. “She wanted me to shut up and go away. She hoped legal threats would scare me into silence. It didn’t work.”
This marks Coble’s third legal action in just a few months aimed directly at a political opponent. Despite positioning herself as a tough-talking candidate, she has repeatedly used the courts to cry foul when faced with scrutiny—trying to silence voices instead of answering questions.
Anybody But Coble will continue to shine a light on Coble’s record, her hypocrisy, and her troubling willingness to use the legal system as a political weapon. Randleman deserves transparency, not intimidation.
